FREE Water Safety Class with SD Parks & Recreation

11 am-1 pm (PST), In-Person at the Kearny Mesa Pool

3170 Armstrong Street, San Diego, CA 92111

This water safety program is designed for individuals recovering from a Brain Injury. The program goals are to learn how to properly use a lifejacket, practice how to get to the side of the pool safely, practice floating skills, and learn how to help someone in trouble. If you are not sure about getting in the swimming pool, you will benefit by practicing most of the skills on the pool deck.

**Please bring a swimsuit and a towel, and dress accordingly.

The changing rooms are large. There are 2 large bathroom stalls in each of the bathrooms. There is a room heater and lockers. There are heated showers both inside and outside.

They have a mobile chair lift and floaties.

The pool is L shaped and starts with stairs at 2 1/2 feet. The deepest part is 9 feet. There are 2 guard chairs and no diving board. This is a Therapeutic pool, and the water is kept between 84-87 degrees.

There are only 27 spots available. Contact Sinthya Carranza (619) 692-4960 for more information.
Registration is required by April 19: CLICK HERE
